Found Objects Sculpture
Artist Statement: My work, "Techne Bot" is created from coffee machine and fluorometer parts. When I saw all the random electronic pieces that I took apart, I was in awe of what I found. There are so many small details that go into all types of machines that are hidden by one large component appearing simplistic. After taking out so many various-sized screws and pulling apart metal scraps, the only idea that came to my mind was a robot. To me, robot means innovation. Innovation comes from unique concepts and creation is sparked from those ideas. Reusing electronic scraps can make for endless possibilities. I carefully removed and added electric pieces on top of one another until I felt satisfied with my work. My robot is one complete piece made out of former, separated components that once made up one working machine. My final robotic piece is just one variation of millions I could have created.
