Final Dinner & A Movie

Image
Final Image: Askew Dining Movie Inspiration: Knives Out Detail Image: Artist statement:       The separation in placement is to represent the division between social classes; the privileged, upper-class family is not willing to accept that the inheritance has gone to the fathers' nurse, Marta. The paper is for the family that has been 'ripped apart' due to the finalized documents stating who gets what in the will. The dark red liquid is for the bloodshed battle between the families dispute for greed. Blood is also the main clue in finding who the true murderer is. The pins with red tops are scattered as everyone seems on edge to find out whodunit and how the clues do not line up with each other. The detective is sharp and looking out in all directions to find any information they can, similar to how the needles are placed. They are small, yet all come together making a pile of important information. The black pills look like the dirt spilling out, referencing the encapsulat

Gregor's Room

In Process Photos: Final Images Gregor: Gregor, Himself Paper and Ink 1.5" x 1.5" x 1.5" Side-Table & Alarm Clock (Furniture Piece): Get Up Paper and Ink 1.75" x 2.5" x 1.25" Gregor's Bed: Filthy Sleep Sack Paper and Ink 6.5" x 5" x 8" Details: Artist Statement:      I saw Gregor's room as a filthy, yet somehow comforting area. Gregor came off as a mass of color to me. He is not one solid color, but many different splotches mashed into one lump. He is all the colors of his room and more. Gregor's bed is lumpy and uneven, but he is comfortable in his own area. He weighs down the middle as if he has been sitting there for a while. I felt this story reflected depression. To me, Gregor did not want to leave or move around, he was content with his comfy bed and room. Blue is a depressing color, yet can be calming as well. Gregor, his blankets, pillow, and stuffed animal are all blue referencing the deep meanings they have to him.
