Below are two images I found of DeVille's work and the links to where I found them. This piece contains a boat filled with fake arms and legs, which seem to have a certain color scheme. There is blue splattered over various limbs, which helps guide the viewers' eyes across the boat.  Balance. The limbs are all sticking out in different directions, yet an arch-like top can be envisioned around the piece. The art feels balanced due to the angles and placements of each limb.      Lines. Tension

Using the AI tool Dall-e, I was able to begin my idea process. I put in the prompt I was given for the tension theme. Then I started to play around with various wording to see what was produced. I also a few comments under the pictures to help me remember what stands out to me most. Above the photos are the exact prompts I used to generate the images.  "The prompt, "Tension – this could be either physical or conceptual tension. I can see this playing out in the materials and form they choose or in the subject matter (found objects possibly). It is open ended and I can see a variety of solutions for it. Project #1 - Planets

Artist Statement: I have always been interested in space and what we are truly surrounded by. Though our world seems vast to us as tiny people, we are confined on Earth. A small number of people leave and go to space, however, they always return. We are limited to our world and I constantly wonder what else there is out there to learn about. We have done some research, but not enough in my opinion. I wonder if someday we will be able to inhabit another planet and what that will mean for our future. Movies such as Star Wars interest me as humans and aliens have come together and populated so much of space. There is a mass learning of different planets which comes with new species and cultures.  My planets are not perfect circles. I believe we do not know enough about space and represented this through the planet's shaping. I made my planets imperfect circles because how can every object be perfect if we do not accurately know enough information about space itself? I included all the...
